Northern Flint Hills Audubon Society 50th Anniversary Celebration

The 50th anniversary celebration was full of fun, food, memories and "long-time no see" moments. Perry's first presentation was our history. How it all started. He was both informative and humorous! We took a break and yes - those beautiful cookies were delicious as well as pretty! Perry then gave us a wonderful presentation about rapters - rapters from around the world! It was an amazing trip with him. Many brought things to display - Sil Pembleton's was about the battle to save Cheyenne Bottoms. Kent Foerster brought THE typewriter he used to type the first Prairie Falcon and a manikin with various T-shirts from past years. Carla Bishop brought ringed notebooks of all the newsletter from 1983 to present! And although Dave Rintoul could not be present, he was in spirit - he let us use 24 "Bird Butt" photos for our quiz. We had pages from past newsletters, letters, photos, newspaper clippings - and more memorabilia. But the greatest part was hearing people telling stories. Some had not seen one another in 40 years! It was quite the reunion.
